FULTON, Miss. (WTVA) - Itawamba AHS running back Ike Chandler is quiet off the field, but he made plenty of noise on the field last Friday.

Chandler rushed for 294 yards and three touchdowns as the Indians defeated Ripley 35-7.

For his efforts, Chandler is the Premier Athletix Impact Player of the Week.

"Offensive line did a great job, we took care of the ball, and we were able to get the win," Chandler said. "Winning the first game is always important."

"He does a great job in the locker room, leading by example," said Itawamba AHS head coach Clint Hoots. "On the practice field, he never shrugs a task. He always does what we ask him to do, when we ask him to do it, and does it wide open, and that's just something we're proud of him for."

Itawamba AHS visits New Albany this Friday.
