Former Tupelo and MSU football star Chad Bumphis hired at Utah

Bumphis is returning to Utah after previously serving as a graduate assistant coach there in 2018.

SALT LAKE CITY – Utah football has hired former Tupelo and Mississippi State football star Chad Bumphis to coach wide receivers.

The university’s athletics department made the announcement on Monday.

Bumphis was a graduate assistant coach at Utah in 2018.

After his first stint at Utah, he coached wide receivers at Austin Peay underneath former MSU coach Mark Hudspeth.

He recently accepted the same position at Central Michigan in February before the Utah opportunity emerged.

Bumphis played a huge role in MSU’s early offenses under former head coach Dan Mullen.
