Columbus hires new head football coach

Josh Pulphus was an assistant at West Point last season.

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WTVA) - Columbus High School has hired Josh Pulphus as its new head football coach.

Pulphus, a former Columbus assistant, coached tight ends for West Point's Class 5A state champions during the 2018 season.

Pulphus went 3-9 as the head coach at Kemper County in 2017.

Columbus went 0-11 in 2018 in Eric Rice's only season as the Falcons' head coach.
