CLINTON, Miss. (WTVA) - Jones County Junior College's softball program won its first NJCAA national championship over the weekend thanks in part to some North Mississippi players on its roster.
Those players include three freshmen - Hallie Donald (Mooreville), Angel Guyton (Smithville) and Gracie McCleskey (Caledonia) - and one sophomore, Emily Robinson (Lafayette County).
Jones defeated Phoenix College 18-2 on Saturday in Clinton to end the season with a 54-3 record.
After being swept by ICC in early April, the Lady Bobcats won their last 21 games, including the MACJC and Region 23 Tournaments in Fulton.
