TUPELO, Miss (WTVA) -- Folks on North Green Street in Tupelo are cleaning up tornado damage following Sunday's tornado.
One man came to help his uncle on Rea Street, which is near Green Street.
"Last night we got a call that a tree had fell on his house during the storm. So we couldn't get here last night because of the conditions," said James Jones of Lee County.
"So, we came early this morning, got down here just trying to help him out and everything," Jones added.
A large tree fell through Jones' uncle's house, narrowly missing him.
"We're just thankful that he is here and everything is o.k.," Jones said.
On North Green Street, a church leader said that the Springhill Baptist Church was not badly damaged during the EF-1 tornado.
"We're lucky. This area is not hit as bad as over around Rea Street and the lower end of Barnes Street," said Phyllis Sims, a church trustee.
