West Point police arrest two following two burglaries

West Point police have arrested two individuals in connection with two different burglaries occurring in the last week.

WEST POINT, Miss. (WTVA) - West Point police have arrested two individuals in connection with two different burglaries occurring in the last week. 

William Stewart, 52, was arrested Thursday in connection to a burglary of Ellis Steel building located on Bugg Street. When officers arrived to the scene last Saturday, they found vending machines broken into and change taken. Ellis Steel employees also discovered tools were stolen. 

Later, police responded to another burglary at Jim's Tire on Main Street on Wednesday. There, vending machines were damaged, change was taken from a cash register, office property was disturbed and credit cards were reported missing. Stewart was also charged in connection to this burglary. 

Shevilla Pennington, 39, was also arrested in connection with the burglary at Jim's Tire. Pennington has been charged with burglary of a commercial building and conspiracy to commit a crime. 

Bond has been set at $10,000 for Stewart and Pennington.
