OXFORD, Miss. (WTVA) - Oxford police officers arrested a 36-year-old Arkansas man in connection to a weekend shooting.
The shooting happened Saturday night, reportedly behind a business in the 200 block of Highway 314.
Paramedics treated the shooting victim, a woman, and airlifted her to a nearby hospital. Police later confirmed the victim is in stable condition.
According to the Oxford Police Department, officers stopped the suspect, 36-year-old Derek Jones of West Memphis, fleeing the scene and arrested him.
Police charged him with two counts of aggravated assault and one count of domestic violence aggravated assault.
Police did not indicate the two individuals’ relationship to one another.
