OXFORD, Miss. (WTVA) - Progress is being made in getting water service restored in Oxford, but people who get water from the city are still being told to boil it for one minute before use.

The city posted Sunday afternoon a picture showing a repaired water main.

However, a precautionary boil water alert remains in effect until testing by the state determines the water is safe.

The Oxford School District is telling parents to send safe drinking water with their children to school until the alert is lifted.
