UPDATE: Wanted Monroe County man located in Florida

According to Monroe County Sheriff Cecil Cantrell, deputies are searching for a man accused of beating his mother Thursday morning.

Update 05/06/18 9:40 p.m. - Sheriff Cecil Cantrell tells WTVA Chad Moore has been arrested. Moore was arrested Sunday morning around 11:00. He is in custody of the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office in Florida. According to the sheriff's office website, Moore has had multiple charges of domestic violence and possession of drugs dating back to 2002. 

Update 05/04/18 6:15 p.m.  - Sheriff Cecil Cantrell tells WTVA Chad Moore has been located in Tampa, Florida.  The Sheriff says Moore is reportedly staying with an uncle.  He says an arrest warrant will be sent to law enforcement in Tampa with hopes of getting Moore in custody.

Update 05/04/18 10:33 a.m. - The Monroe County Sheriff's Department has released an updated picture of the suspect, Chad Moore.

MONROE COUNTY, Miss. (WTVA) - According to Monroe County Sheriff Cecil Cantrell, deputies are searching for a man accused of beating his mother Thursday morning.

Cantrell identifies the man as Chad Moore, 39, of Amory. He's wanted for domestic aggravated assault.

He says the incident happened on Bigbee Road outside of Amory sometime near 7 a.m.

Cantrell says the mother received a fractured skull, nose and left arm, as well as having teeth knocked out. He says she is expected to have surgery at a local hospital.

The sheriff believes Moore used some type of weapon. He says the mother received help from neighbors, who called 911.

Anyone with information on Moore's whereabouts is urged to contact the Monroe County Sheriff's Department at 662-369-2468.

Later Thursday, Sheriff Cantrell stated Moore used a crowbar and nearly beat his mother to death.

"Her walking to the neighbor's house saved her life," Cantrell said.

One neighbor said he called 911 and applied pressure until medical crews arrived.
