A reinforcing shot of cold, dry air in time for Thanksgiving

Overview:
Yet another dry cold front has passed through the region, reinforcing the cold, dry air we've been seeing over our area in recent days. This will have some impact on your Thanksgiving, Egg Bowl and Black Friday plans. But by the time we head into the weekend, we'll warm up a little bit ahead of another shot of colder air.

Today:
We begin with clear skies and temperatures in the upper 30s to lower 40s. But although we start out a bit warmer temperature-wise, a northerly wind between 10 and 15 mph will make it feel more like upper 20s to lower 30s.

Through the rest of the day, expect more sunshine with a continued north wind between 10 and 15 mph. While this sunshine attempts to warm us up, the wind will work against it. Highs should only reach the lower to mid-50s with some only in the upper 40s. Wind chills will struggle to reach the lower 50s all day long. Once the sun sets, temperatures plummet quickly.

Thanksgiving:
Temperatures will continue to slip into daybreak, likely into the mid and upper 20s under clear skies. The sunshine will warm us up a bit more through the day. But it won't be much warmer since winds will still be out of the north between 5 and 10 mph. Highs should reach the mid-50s. Then once the sun goes down, temperatures drop into the 40s and 30s during the Egg Bowl in Starkville.

Black Friday and Beyond:
We'll see some improvements going into your Black Friday. But we'll still be cold early in the morning, likely into the upper 20s and lower 30s. Sunshine remains prevalent through your Friday with afternoon highs reaching the lower 60s, finally bringing some warmer air into the region. We'll continue this warming trend into your Saturday with highs reaching the mid-60s.

But again, this warming trend is short-lived as another cold front rolls in Sunday morning. Temperatures should start out in the mid and upper 30s. Then by the afternoon, we'll reach into the mid-50s, back to what we saw on Thanksgiving. Warmer air returns by Tuesday with highs in the mid-60s. Again, not a drop of rain is expected each day.
