Vehicle flips, catches fire in Webster County; 4 injured

WEBSTER COUNTY, Miss. (WTVA) - Four people were injured after a vehicle went off the roadway, flipped and caught fire.

The crash happened sometime near 12:46 p.m. on Highway 82 near Ticky Bend Road in Webster County.

Master Sgt. Criss Turnipseed with the Mississippi Highway Patrol says the SUV was traveling west on the highway, ran off into the median and the driver overcorrected. The vehicle went off the roadway, hit an embankment, flipped and caught fire.

Four people were inside the vehicle. The driver and front passenger were both taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

The two backseat passengers were both airlifted to North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo with moderate injuries.
