At approximately 3:28 p.m., Oxford police responded to a residence on South Lamar Boulevard for a domestic disturbance report.
Officers were given permission to search the residence, and they discovered modified weapons and two possible pipe bombs, police say.
The house was evacuated and federal agents, along with the Tupelo police bomb unit, were called to the scene.
Once a search warrant was obtained, the Tupelo bomb unit entered the residence and secured the devices.
A more detailed search of the property revealed multiple weapons, ammunition, narcotics and paraphernalia.
The suspect was identified as Kristopher Austin Griste, 22, of Oxford. He was charged with domestic violence-simple assault.
Police say other weapons charges are pending and no bond has been set at this time.
