Washington (WTVA) - U.S. Senator Roger Wicker believes that the latest infrastructure counteroffer to the White House is fair to businesses and avoids increasing taxes at an unreasonable level.
“Our proposal includes real numbers that address what members on both sides of the aisle would agree is infrastructure,” said Wicker. “This is a good faith proposal that avoids hiking taxes on job creators and small businesses. The President indicated he would accept a funding target of at least $1 trillion, and we hope he will accept this offer so we can provide critical upgrades to our nation’s infrastructure.”
The updated Republican Roadmap includes a $91 billion increase in spending for roads and bridges and a $48 billion increase in spending for water infrastructure.
Other items covered include public transit systems, airports, and broadband infrastructure.
