VERONA, Miss. (WTVA) - A pistol with an unusual modification is one of the center pieces of evidence concerning last week's fatal shooting in Verona.
Verona Police Chief J.B. Long says his officers recovered a pistol with a C-Mag magazine attached to it following the March 22 shooting.
The magazine holds 50 rounds.
He says officers recovered the gun at the North Mississippi Medical Center.
Police did not release the exact location the gun was discovered.
A local gun expert says this type of weapon configuration is not needed for self defense.
"Those are not self-defense rounds. That is just too many. There's no need for 50 rounds to defend yourself," said NRA Certified Handgun Instructor Steve Carter.
Verona police are still looking for three suspects, one of whom was identified as Jarnavis D. Chandler. He is wanted for the murder of 26-year-old Jazken Green.
Green died at NMMC Friday evening.
The identities of the other two suspects were not released.
