Tupelo police are investigating a "vehicle vs. pedestrian" incident, according to Capt. Chuck McDougald.

Some are calling for more traffic safety measures in light of the pedestrian accident last Friday on North Gloster.

Tupelo police are investigating a "vehicle vs. pedestrian" incident, according to Capt. Chuck McDougald. 

Preliminary information shows the pedestrian suffered moderate injuries, McDougald said.

The driver remained on the scene and cooperated with investigators. 

This case is under investigation.

TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - Multiple law enforcement officers responded to an incident along North Gloster Street Friday night.

A heavy police presence was seen around 9 p.m. in the area near Woody's and south of McCullough Boulevard.

One person was seen lying in the northbound lane and surrounded by several others, according to WTVA's Morgan Burger.
