NEW ALBANY, Miss. (WTVA) - New Albany police have identified a suspect after a car was stolen from a store's parking lot on Monday.
Police identify William Zachery Boseman of Georgia as a suspect in the case. He's accused of stealing the car, which was left running, from the parking lot of Tony's Quick Mart.
Police say the car's owner went inside the store to make a purchase. The owner tried to stop the thief but was unsuccessful.
The store's owner says the car's owner was is in the store for only a few minutes when she realized someone was driving off in her car.
New Albany Police Chief Chris Robertson believes Boseman was involved in a wreck Sunday in the area. He believes Boseman did not have a way to leave the area, which led to the theft.
Police say they are getting help from the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, as well as Georgia law enforcement in hopes of finding Boseman and the car.
If you have any information about the case, you're urged to contact the New Albany Police Department.
