HOUSTON, Miss. (WTVA) - Houston School District Superintendent Tony Cook will remain with the school district and will not take the high school principal job at Tupelo Christian Preparatory School.
On Tuesday, TCPS announced that Cook would be joining the school's staff for the 2018-2019 school year as its high school principal.
On Wednesday, Cook confirmed with WTVA that he has reconsidered and will remain in Houston.
He says he received a lot of supportive feedback from the Houston community, his hometown, and did a lot of soul searching which led him to this decision.
He says TCPS is a wonderful place by which it helps spread the Lord's word and wishes the school nothing but the best.
But he says the right thing for him to do is to remain a Hilltopper.
