GOLDEN, Miss. (WTVA) - A Belmont man has pleaded guilty to federal charges after being arrested in a food selling scheme.
Randy Sparks entered a guilty plea to one count of conspiracy to transport property taken by fraud in interstate commerce.
Sparks is the owner of Silver Dollar Sales in Golden in Tishomingo County.
Sparks is accused of being involved in a scheme where 200 truckloads of food and beverages were both under the promise the products would be destroyed or recycled into agricultural feed.
The items were instead sole at discount grocery businesses in several states, including Mississippi and California from 2014 to 2016.
He was released on bond and ordered to report back to court in September for sentencing.
