He comes to Tupelo after spending five years as the head coach at Houston High School, his alma mater.
Hardin’s Hilltoppers compiled an impressive 40-11 resume on the gridiron, including making the playoffs four consecutive years, a school record.
The Hilltoppers were crowned District 3A champions 2018 and advanced to the north-half finals four times, losing to the eventual state champions each time.
He replaces former head coach Trent Hammond, who is now an assistant coach at New Albany High School.
