FULTON/TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - While many were out holiday shopping over the weekend, two different stores in different towns said items were stolen from the businesses by a man in a motorized wheelchair.

The owner of Scruggs Farm, Lawn, and Garden in Tupelo said the man stole several items from the store Saturday afternoon.

Incredibly, the surveillance video shows he was with a young boy at the time.

The owner says the items stolen total around $1,500.

Meanwhile, the Walmart in Fulton is busy with holiday shoppers this time of year, but police said a man in a motorized wheelchair decided to take items without paying for them Saturday night.

According to investigators, Walmart is currently conducting an internal investigation to determine how much was stolen.

This crime was also caught by surveillance cameras, which will hopefully help police identify the suspect.

Investigators said they have tentatively identified the suspect.

This is a developing story. Stay with WTVA for updates.
