TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - Two men were arrested by Tupelo police on Friday.

Police say it all stemmed from a shooting on Lakeview Drive.

They say Lekendrick Hux and Jason Hart were in a vehicle when they shot at another occupied vehicle in front of a home. No one was hurt and the victim's vehicle did not have any damage to it.

Police say after the 911 call was made, officers searched for the two and found an unoccupied vehicle running with the keys still in the ignition. The vehicle was found at Dodge's Chicken.

Witnesses then told police they saw two men go inside of Walmart, which sits next door to Dodge's.

Captain Tim Bell said Hart led officers on a chase inside the store. He was then tackled outside and put into handcuffs.

“We put officers inside," Bell said.  "Actually one suspect left Walmart and was coming back up towards Dodge's store where he was stopped by patrol officers and was found to have a weapon.”

Bell says the two face misdemeanor charges.

Aside from the pistol found in Hux's pocket, police also found a large caliber stolen gun lying between the seats of their vehicle.

The gun was stolen from Itawamba County.
