Two people were taken to the hospital Thursday afternoon following an accident at a silo southwest of Columbus.

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WTVA) - Two people were taken to the hospital Thursday afternoon following an accident at a silo southwest of Columbus.

Lowndes County firefighters and the Mississippi Highway Patrol were called around 2:40 p.m. to some silos in the 2500 block of Carson Road.

Emergency responders said a worker fell from a lift along with a piece of equipment.

They added the second person who was hurt was on the ground.

Lowndes County fire coordinator Neal Austin said the two are expected to be okay.
