TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - The Tupelo city council is expected to approve a contract with a private company to oversee operations of the city's wastewater treatment plant.
The council will vote tonight on a three-year agreement with ESG Corporation of Macon, Georgia.
The city will pay $1.44 million annually for the service over the three-year period.
ESG will provide 24-hour staffing of the lagoons on International Drive.
The company will employ 14 full-time staff members as part of the contract agreement.
