TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - A prayer vigil was held at Tupelo High School to remember a fellow classmate who died during a shooting earlier in the week.
Tuesday night’s shooting in the Haven Acres area claimed the life of Tiara Dancer, 17, who was a senior at the high school.

Her family, friends, and members of the community packed the school’s auditorium Friday morning to find strength in the midst of their sadness.
WTVA reporter Kayla Thompson spoke with Dancer’s sister who said the days following the shooting have been rough, but she and her family are keeping their heads up.
The shooting also injured an 18-year-old male.
In connection to the shooting, Police arrested and charged 19-year-old Jacoby O’Neal of Belden with second-degree murder.
