TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - Tupelo residents made last-minute preparations to stay at home per the governor’s orders.
Several people rushed to Walmart and other grocery stores to stock up on items ranging from groceries to coloring books.
Residents said they are finding activities to keep them busy while they do their part to slow the spread.
Once the order went into effect Friday afternoon, roads looked bare, but people took advantage of restaurants' curbside options.
No matter how residents felt about the order, they said they will comply to protect themselves and their families from the coronavirus.
The order ends on April 20 at 8 a.m.
