Tupelo police seek help in locating stolen SUV and robber

Tupelo police are searching for a stolen SUV following a Christmas Day robbery.

TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) – Tupelo police are hunting down a stolen SUV and a man accused of stealing it at gunpoint.

The incident happened on Christmas Day sometime near 1:45 a.m. on Marie Street in Tupelo.

When police arrived, the adult victim said they had been robbed at gunpoint by a man wearing a black coat, mask and dark pants.

Police say the robber hit the victim with the weapon and stole the victim’s black 1999 Chevrolet Suburban. The victim declined medical treatment at the scene.

Tupelo investigators are looking for the vehicle. It should be displaying a Mississippi license tag of LEG616. It has been entered into a database as a stolen vehicle.
