TUPELO, Miss (WTVA) -- Tupelo police say a pedestrian was injured in a hit-and-run accident early this morning.
Assistant Chief Jackie Clayton says officers responded to Green Tee Road just west of South Gloster Street around 1:30 a.m.
He says the man was walking along the roadway when a car traveling in the same direction hit him.
Clayton said a passerby saw the man and called the police.
He said the man was alert and conscious when officers arrived.
The driver of the vehicle left the scene and the man could not give a description to the police.
