Coroner: Tupelo body believed to be that of missing woman

TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - The body found Wednesday morning along the Natchez Trace Parkway is believed to be that of Glenda Spivey, according to Lee County Coroner Carolyn Green.

Spivey, 63, was last seen in Tupelo the last week of June.

A wrecker pulled a red Ford SUV from the scene.

She was last seen driving a red 2000 Ford Explorer, according to the Tupelo Police Department.

A maintenance worker found the body inside a vehicle in a wooded area along the Natchez Trace Parkway, Chief Ranger Sarah Davis confirmed.

The Tupelo Police Department also responded to the scene, which is inside the Tupelo city limits near Tupelo High School.

A wrecker pulled a red Ford SUV from the scene.

Green said an autopsy would be performed in Pearl as soon as possible.

The Natchez Trace Parkway is investigating the death.
