Tupelo man killed after motorcycle hits tree

A Tupelo man was pronounced dead after a motorcycle hit a tree Sunday morning.

TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - A Tupelo man was pronounced dead after a motorcycle hit a tree Sunday morning.

According to Lee County Coroner Carolyn Green, she was called to the scene on South Green Street in Tupelo around 2:30 a.m. 

Green says a motorcycle hit a tree.

Green confirms the deceased is Albert Chavez, 56, of Tupelo. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
