LEE COUNTY, Miss. (WTVA) - A Tupelo man is accused of attacking two women in Lee County during the weekend.
The incident happened on Sunday, July 22 at a residence on County Road 783 in the Saltillo area.
When Lee County deputies responded, they found two women.
According to the Lee County Sheriff's Department, the two women had been assaulted by Gregory Richardson, 36.
One woman was in a dating relationship with Richardson. The second woman was a resident at the home.
Richardson is accused of choking his girlfriend during a physical altercation. The second woman tried to help the first woman, reports the sheriff's department.
Richardson is accused of attacking the second woman with a gun and firing one shot, which resulted in an injury to the woman's face.
The woman was taken to North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo for medical treatment.
The sheriff's department says Richardson fled the scene before officers arrived. However, he was taken into custody a short time later in the area attempting to flee from Lee County deputies.
Richardson has been charged with domestic violence-aggravated assault and aggravated assault-use of a deadly weapon.
The victim's current condition is not known.
