TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - Firefighters in Tupelo responded to an early morning house fire on Wednesday.
Fire Chief Thomas Walker confirmed lightning caused the fire around 4:30 a.m. It happened in the area of Orchid Circle in the Spring Lake subdivision.
He said the fire happened in the attic and did not spread. Firefighters had to pull out part of the ceiling to check if the fire did spread.
Chief Walker said a man, a woman and their two children were inside but got out of the home safely.
