TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - Tupelo teacher Leslie Tally is the 2021 Teacher of the Year.
On Thursday the Mississippi Department of Education announced the recipients of its Teacher and Administrator of the Year awards.

Tally, a 2nd grade English teacher at Lawhon Elementary, was among four finalists for the award, including Starkville teacher Janna Paes.
As part of her award, Tally will receive a $5,000 stipend. She’ll also represent Mississippi in the National Teacher of the Year competition.
Tupelo Middle School principal Mark Enis was among four finalists for the Administrator of the Year award. Pass Christian principal Mandy Lacy received the Administrator award.
