TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - Tupelo High School's Athletic Director, Jason Miller, said he and his team are limiting all indoor sports to 10% capacity. Miller believes this new precaution will help security officers ensure social distancing and enforce the mask mandate.
“It’s an opportunity for us to provide safety for our students, faculty, staff, community, and everybody who’s involved and will be inside,” he said.
Basketball and other indoor sports already started in October. Miller said this change will go into effect December 11th.
He said if a game is inside the school’s gymnasium, then up to 200 guests are allowed. Miller added that the amount of guests each player can invite depends on the sport.
For example, if its basketball, then each player will get two tickets.
As for concession stands, Miller said they will remain open. People must social distance while standing in lines.
