TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) — The Tupelo Regional Airport reported more people boarding Contour Airlines last month, and this month looks to be the same.
Contour Airlines is doing so well, in fact, its executives are requesting more office space at the airport.
Airport Director Cliff Nash said almost 1,400 people boarded the airline last month.
"We've been extremely happy with Contour," Nash said. "They've done a great job and continue to do a great job and continue to grow, and we look forward to future years with them."
Nash said the U.S. Department of Transportation provided a contract to carriers like Contour to provide air service to smaller airports across the country.
He said that money should keep Contour flying high out of Tupelo for the foreseeable future.
