Truck catches fire on I-22, no injuries

The fire happened on Interstate 22 just before Exit 73 in Blue Springs.

BLUE SPRINGS, Miss. (WTVA) - No one was hurt after a truck caught fire Wednesday morning in Union County.

The fire happened on Interstate 22 just before Exit 73 in Blue Springs.

Multiple agencies including the Mississippi Highway Patrol and local firefighters were called to the scene.

The driver told WTVA he was hauling a food truck from west Georgia to California when he noticed smoke coming from the air vents.

He says when he pulled over, he and the passenger noticed the engine was on fire.

Officials arrived on the scene shortly before 9 a.m. and put out the fire within an hour.

The truck is considered a total loss.
