Tires lead to grass fire in highway median

The Lafayette County Fire Department says tires fell off an 18-wheeler truck, causing sparks to ignite grass in the median.

LAFAYETTE COUNTY, Miss. (WTVA) – It took firefighters about an hour to put out fires in the Highway 6 East median in Lafayette County.

The Lafayette County Fire Department says tires fell off an 18-wheeler truck, causing sparks to ignite grass in the median.

One firefighter said they finished about 5:34 p.m.

There were no injuries.
