TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - The North Mississippi Dulcimer Association held its monthly Dulcimer Day at the Natchez Trace Parkway headquarters on Saturday.
According to Linda Sullivan, Dulcimer Association leader, members from Tennessee, Alabama and Mississippi come together multiple times a year to play together.
The association plays at multiple venues, including assisted-living facilities, nursing homes, churches and other civic events.
Sullivan said the instrument is not hard to learn to play because it is operated by a number system.
She said the instrument is believed to be the first instrument in America, originating in the Appalachian Mountains.
