Two teenagers were taken to the hospital following a vehicle rollover in Lowndes County.

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WTVA) - Two teenagers were taken to the hospital following a vehicle rollover in Lowndes County.

The one-vehicle rollover happened today, Dec. 19, at approximately 11:46 a.m. on Yorkville Road.

A Lowndes County Sheriff’s Department spokesperson says a GMC SUV was traveling west on Yorkville Road.

It appears the driver of the SUV lost control of the vehicle, overturned and struck a light pole.

The driver, a 16-year-old boy, and an 18-year-old male passenger were both transported to Baptist Memorial Hospital by ambulance. Their current conditions are unknown.

A 14-year-old boy was also a passenger in the vehicle but was not injured.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
