Teenager dies in Clay County crash

The Mississippi Highway Patrol says one person is dead after a two-car accident in Clay County.

CLAY COUNTY, Miss. (WTVA)  -- The Mississippi Highway Patrol says one person is dead after a two-car accident in Clay County.

MHP says the crash happened around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday on Highway 50 near Pate Road.

MHP says 66-year old Robert Fisher, Jr. of West Point was traveling west when he collided with a car driven by 16-year old Jonathan Dean Fondren of Columbus who was heading east.

Fondren was pronounced dead at the scene.

Fisher was taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus.

The crash is under investigation.
