TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - Tattoo shops were allowed to reopen Monday following the governor's new Safer at Home order.
People are already lining up and booking appointments.
Prior to closing its doors nearly two months ago, Lucky 7 was already under strict safety and health guidelines. Artists already had to wear gloves and sanitize and clean their stations after every customer.
Now included are mandatory masks for employees and customers.
Greg Hutcheson, an artist at Lucky 7, said many people have been waiting for the shop to reopen.
"I had people messaging me, asking me about setting an appointment before we even knew that we would reopen."
He also said the phone has been ringing constantly for customers to book appointments. Since the lobby is also closed, customers have to wait in their vehicles until their appointments.
The shop's employees have to take the customers' temperatures before they can come in.
