ABERDEEN, Miss. (WTVA) - Police continue to investigate a deadly shooting that happened Saturday night in Aberdeen.
Aberdeen Police Chief Henry Randle confirmed the shooting happened near Forrest Street.
One person died. Monroe County Coroner Alan Gurley later identified the victim as Sergio James, 35, of Aberdeen.
Randle identified the suspect as Amari Johnson, 20.
Update - Aberdeen murder suspect captured in Minnesota
The police chief said Johnson fled the scene in a red Mercedes coupe with an Alabama license plate. Police did not initially provide a license plate number.
Police consider him armed and dangerous.
