Suspect wanted in Lowndes County hit-and-run

Law enforcement in Lowndes County is asking for the public's help searching for the person responsible for a Thursday hit-and-run.

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WTVA) - Law enforcement in Lowndes County is asking for the public's help searching for the person responsible for a Thursday hit-and-run.

The Lowndes County Sheriff's Department says the incident happened around 7:20 p.m. Thursday on William Roberts Road at the intersection of Swedenburg Circle.

Deputies say a 21-year-old riding a bicycle traveling east on the road was struck by a vehicle.

The victim was transported by ambulance from the scene and was later flown to the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.

Their condition is unknown at this time.
