Troopers: Suspect arrested after Pontotoc County chase

A suspect has been arrested after a brief chase with the Mississippi Highway Patrol in Pontotoc County Monday morning.

PONTOTOC COUNTY, Miss. (WTVA) - A suspect was arrested after a brief chase in Pontotoc County, according to Public Information Officer Jason Roe with the Mississippi Highway Patrol.

The chase began about 6:30 Monday morning when a Mississippi Highway Patrol trooper tried to stop the suspect for a traffic violation, according to Roe. The suspect fled the scene.

The chase began on Highway 9 and ended on Rocky Ford Road, Roe said. There were no injuries.

We are still working to learn the name of the suspect as well as the charges.
