SALTILLO, Miss. (WTVA) -- It was a busy Monday morning for many parents as children headed back to school for the first day of classes.
In Lee County, parents paused to take pictures near the Saltillo Primary School entrance to mark the special occasion.
Both Saltillo police and firefighters were on hand to help with back to school traffic.
There are about 750 students at Saltillo Primary.
Parents Patty and Bret Baugham walked both their children into their schools.
"Both of them woke up this morning, got their shoes on and beat us to get out the door," Patty Baugham said.
Zac Miller is a second grade student.
Miller said he's excited about his Discovery class, making new friends and recess.
