JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) — The Mississippi Forestry Commission announced Wednesday evening the state burn ban is no longer in effect.
No reason was given in the agency's announcement on its Facebook page for the move.
The ban, which had no exceptions, was not even in effect for a full week. Governor Tate Reeves signed an executive order last Thursday because of the coronavirus.
The commission said at the time it asked for the ban to ease the strain on emergency responders having to deal with the virus.
