STARKVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) — More than 20 stores in Downtown Starkville participated in Small Business Saturday trying to get shoppers to look locally for holiday shopping instead of focusing on the national chain stores.
"It's been pretty steady," said Brandi Herrington, the owner of Dunkington Art and Jewelry describing what kind of foot traffic she has seen in her business.
"Well, it's money back in our city," said Pat Johnson, the owner of Occasions. "After going through this COVID, we need all the help we can get."
The stores made changes for the pandemic, such as markers on the floor to keep people at least six feet apart from one another.
