Warrant issued in Starkville shooting

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) - Starkville Police issue a warrant for 17-year old De’Anthony Carpenter of Starkville for attempted murder in connection with a shooting that happened Monday afternoon on Catherine Street. 

Starkville Police are encouraging Carpenter to turn himself into authorities.

Crime Stoppers may offer a cash reward.

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) - Starkville Police responded to a shooting Monday afternoon.

Sgt. Brandon Lovelady with Starkville Police, said they were called to a shooting on Catherine Street at 3:47 p.m. Monday.

According to Lovelady, the shooting happened after a fight involving the victim and the suspect.

The male victim was taken to OCH Regional Medical Center and then flown to another hospital for treatment. He's listed in stable but serious condition.

The incident is under active investigation.
