STARKVILLE, Miss. (WTVA)— A Starkville movie theater is reopening next week. This comes after the coronavirus pandemic forced it to close for three months.
General Manager Seth Parsley said Hollywood Premiere Cinemas off of Highway 12 will open on Friday, June 19.
As the theater opens in the middle of the pandemic, Parsley said new safety measures are in place.
He said markers will be on the floor to encourage social distancing in the concessions line.
Everyone is encouraged to wear a mask inside the theater and the theaters will only be filled with half of its capacity, said Parsley.
In honor of its reopening, Parsley said the theater will show old movies.
Each ticket will cost $5 for a limited time. Previous ticket prices were about $9 each.
When the theater closed on March 18, Parsley said times felt uncertain.
He had to furlough all of his hourly employees.
Now that the theater is set to reopen, he said things look optimistic.
