STARKVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) - The rain didn't stop the July 4th celebration at the Starkville Sportsplex, but it did delay it.
The fireworks show was scheduled for 9 p.m., but organizers pushed it back 15 minutes because of thunder and lightning.
As the night came to an end, families and vendors reflected on the meaning of Independence Day and why they were there.
The Starkville Parks and Recreation Department hosted its annual holiday event with food vendors, face painting, a petting zoo, bounce houses and live entertainment.
