TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - Some storm damage was reported Wednesday afternoon in the Golden Triangle area.
This includes West Point, Columbus and Caledonia.
WTVA has received reports of wind damage such as downed trees and power outages.
As of 4:49 p.m., almost 2,000 power outages were reported in Oktibbeha, Lowndes, Attala and Winston counties, according to poweroutage.us.

At 4:55 p.m., Mississippi State University issued a Maroon Alert:
"TVA has reported a large scale power outage affecting campus and the Starkville Community. Officials are working to resolve the issue, but a time frame has not been provided."
At the same time, Starkville Utilities shared this:
We were notified that this is a 161kV transmission line with TVA from Sturgis that was impacted by weather. This is a main line that feeds our substation. TVA crews have been mobilized. Our crews are currently working on switching loads from alternate sources. @COStarkville
